I like that EJD writes more than one genre. For one thing it shows that he is versitile. I know I enjoy a variety of genres. Sometimes as readers we pigeonhold authors into writing one way and then get mad or say we don't like their stuff when they venture out. I enjoyed his earlier works and I enjoy most of his later works.
I really enjoyed Pleasure. Since it was a book about the character exploring her sexual self then you have to expect sex scenes. EJD writes them well, you can feel as though you were a voyeur. But, there were other storylines in the book just as interesting. Like how Logan would not let go. The anchorwoman dilemna over what brother she really loved. The character and her mother relationship.
I don't have the words to explain it, but I understood the whole twins and Gemini thing.
I'm rambling but you asked my favoirte EJD book.
I think Pleasure would be among them with the Other Woman and Friends and Lovers and Cheaters.

Hey Jennifer and Milk in My Coffee huh...hmmm....I think my favorite would be his first two books but I'm not sure if I would say the same thing if I read them today. Regarding his last three books, I enjoyed Sleeping with Strangers...Walking with Enemies I didn't have to read...and based upon the mixed-reviews for Pleasure...I'm in no hurry to read it. :)

Milk in My Coffee is my favorite EDJ book.

IMO I don't think there's anything wrong with writing in different genres. i myself do it. However, you as an author can't expect you fans/readers to want to read a genre they normally wouldn't just to support you as an author.

I don't think I can read his newest stuff because I need more than just a constant bed and two or maybe three people in it for a few pages. In the real world there's not that much to say about sex.

I'll stick to his earlier offerings.
