Alec `Smoke’ Avery and Anne Phiilips are living and loving together. For the past four years they have been a couple. They even have a baby girl, Iris, who is the apple of their eyes. Their son, Isaiah, is at Kentucky State on a basketball scholarship and has seemingly given up street life, since Smoke entered his life. It would appear that all is well with this family. But, nothing is ever as it seems. Anne suspects that Smoke is still creeping with Dirty Diana and she could be right. Isaiah is playing ball and dating a new cutie, however, he is all of a sudden flush with cash and gifts. What is he up to and will it jeopardize his future and even affect his parents? These are the questions that plague us as we read the roller coaster that is entitled, Where There is Smoke 2. This book hooked me from the first page and kept me interested until the very last page.

Terra Little tells a timely story of how a family functions and disfunctions. She also allows the reader to connect with the human element of the characters and make no excuses for any of their behaviors. Where There is Smoke 2 is a fun, drama-filled book that most readers will enjoy from start to finish. I was unable to stop reading until I was done.

  1. I just started reading the first one and I have to agree that the book caught me from the first chapter and now I can barely put it down. I can’t wait to finish it and start this one.
