Okay can I be real for a moment. I’m so not feeling Solange Knowles as a singer. Is it just me? Have any of you heard her new album. I heard a couple of songs and I can’t say that they (or she) will grow on me. What say you? Provided below is a video of her singing I Decided. Sweep It or Keep It?I say sweep it. Am I being too harsh…lol. It’s Tell it Like it Tis Thursday…so go ahead and keep it real…share what you honestly think with APOOO.

Solange has finally found her own niche. I think she is like the black Amy Winehouse. Eccentric in sound and eclectic in appeal to a really odd market. The music and style aren’t me, but from a PR and marketing perspective she is an easier sell in this form than in the previous form when she sounded and looked like a baby Beyonce. I actually think her voice is better.
Hey Robin…agree it’s easier to sell someone with their own style vs. copying someone else’s…but hmmm I’m still not feeling her…and I really like Amy Winehouse.
I like po’ lil’ Amy too, Yasmin. I hate what she’s going thru, too talented and too loved for that drama. I forgot to add what I DECIDED about Solange:I’m not keeping it or feelin’ it so I’ll just sweep her to the folks who’re buying it. LOL

oh my lol. I am not a fan of her really but i do like the album. I love that she’s in her own style of music and has her own voice. I love it. Don’t ask why. I prefer it to her sister’s. I love music…all sorts of genre’s…that makes me bop, rock and get my groove on and her album does that. some of the lyrics to me are like “”"uhhhh oookkk” but like I said, a beat, a rhythm that can make me shake my thang while I’m driving…gets a repeat in my cd player lol

I have not heard the album…but I like the song “I decided”. I was not always a big fan of beyonce, but I love her last album. It keeps me going at work. I will have to listen to Solange’s album to see how I feel about her. Amy i feel is a train wreck and I have never liked her songs. Now one I really don’t like is Ashanti…never have…never will
I had this discussion this past Sunday with some friends of my daughter’s over at her place. About half agreed with me, we weren’t feeling Solange and a couple of others said they like the song she has out now with the old school flavor. I’on know. She has some big shoes to feel. She will never be a Beyonce. I just don’t think she is that great of a singer. She’s trying though.

I don’t know if I would buy her album, but I do like that she is not trying to sound like her sister. I actually seen her live when she was the opening act for a concert I went to, she didn’t sound too bad.
i HATE solange. she will NEVER be beyonce. she needs to go somewhere else.. like college or somethin cause she’s never guna be famous… she’s always going to be “beyonce’s little sister” … thats it !!!
