Chris Gardner is well known for his memoir, THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS. START WHERE YOU ARE by Chris Gardner is a self-help book that provides “life lessons in the pursuit of happyness.” It was written in hopes of providing direction to those in a time of great uncertainty.
From the first to last lesson, Mr. Gardner opens your eyes to wisdom that allowed him to succeed in his life. Lessons such as: 1. Attitude. Acknowledge you’re where you are because you drove here. 2. Transferable Skills. It is okay to fail-the knowledge is transportable. It is not okay to quit. He shows that in all of us we have the tools to become successful, we just need to use them and not resist them. The concepts are simple enough to put into action. If you put the lessons to use, you too can be on the road to “pursuit of happyness.”
START WHERE YOU ARE was very easy to read. I especially enjoyed the stories Gardner included from his life to the lives of others, that overcame hardships and succeeded. It also included many great and inspiring quotes. I absolutely loved this book! This will be one inspirational guide I will keep with me for future reference so I can be on a journey to my “pursuit of happyness.” I recommend this book to all walks of life, no matter where you are in life. Readers are sure to get something insightful from reading it.
