Tia, would you say you are an extrovert or introvert?

Definitely an extrovert.

Do you like to cook? If so, what are your favorite dishes to cook?

I don’t like to cook at all, but since my family can’t survive on cereal, I have about twelve good dishes that I rotate through and vary the sides! Hey, a woman’s gotta do what a woman’s gotta do! I’m the queen of casseroles because I don’t like standing over a stove and tending to things that have to cook slow!  Other than that, I make a slap yo’ mama banana pudding! It’s one of the highly requested dishes at the family and friends potlucks.

Are you a sports fan? If so, tell us about your favorite sports and/or sports team.

Believe it or not, I love watching track and field meets. I’m biased towards the sprints and relays. I tend to channel surf during the long distance running. I’m not huge on team sports, but I’ll watch a good pro football or basketball game, especially if it’s between two big-rival teams.

Are there any other hobbies you wish to share?

My children are my hobbies. I’m reliving my childhood through them because I used to absolutely love making crafts and doing school projects. My get so thrilled about making things like making snowmen with cotton balls, or cooking Elmo pizzas with English muffins, shredded cheese and turkey pepperoni! While my kids are still young, my hobby is making memories with them!

What movies(s) have you watched recently that you would recommend?

Unstoppable (starring Denzel Washington). ‘Nuff said.

Do you like books being turned into a movie? If so, what is your favorite book-to-movie?

I don’t mind when books are turned into movies, even though that comes with its share of discrepancies. I think my favorite “book-to-movies” are The Secret Life of Bees and The Color Purple.

Which social networks do you enjoy the most?

Like everybody else in the world, I think I’ve become a Facebook fan. I don’t stay on it constantly. Probably only about 30-45 minutes during the course of a day.

What’s next for you?

In 2011, I plan to finish some things that I started. I have several story ideas that haven’t been completely fleshed out so I’ll look back at those. But mainly, I continue to get emails from readers who want to see more from Anisha and Tyson who were in my first book, A Heart of Devotion. By now, they’ve been married about five years and have a son. I think it’s time for us to see what’s going on with them….I THINK!

About the Book

Shelia Rushmore thought she’d be the last woman standing when it was time to fight for her man. Instead Ace, her boyfriend of two years, chose to reunite with his ex-wife, leaving Shelia emotionally devastated. It’s a year later when Sheila is convinced that sneaking into their wedding ceremony will put closure on the gaping hole in her heart.

But it’s on the back pew of the church where a new relationship begins for Shelia. She can’t explain the touch she received from God on that day, but she’s determined to be a better woman-a woman of faith. Since high school, Shelia has been chasing her definition of the good life – it’s left her with no home, no man, and no money. But now that’s she’s living life for God, things should get better, right? Shelia learns that living a faith-filled life isn’t always easy.

With faith, tough love, and some tough decisions, Shelia realizes that the life she’d been praying for she could have for herself is actually attainable. Being wrapped in God’s arms, she decided, was by far the safest place she’d ever been.
