This is my idea of a great spring break. Notice the steps leading directly to the beach, the Adirondack chairs for lounging. And no folks in sight. Spring break in this place includes:
- sleeping in
- reading
- writing
- eating great meals
- running on the beach
- peace and quiet
This is The Girl’s idea of spring break. Lots of people, lots of activity, lots of noise.
Her spring break included:
- movies
- sightseeing
- shopping
- eating out
- the library (at least three times because she’s read at least 8 books in the past 7 days- I have no idea when she had the time with all the running around)
- lots of profiling and picture taking
And this is the stuff that Diva In Training was doing with ME! She hasn’t seen any of her friends since last Friday.
I can’t wait for Tuesday when spring break officially ends in my part of the world.
Work is looking and sounding like heaven right about now.
I’m getting too old for this.
(Next year, we start the College Tour spring break series. I’m thinking that will be a lot of fun.)
How did you spend spring break with the kids?

Yelling and saying why are you home? The reality hit me and I realize school is closed so they have to stay home with me. I’ll tell you something else I didn’t realize it was spring break until they got home from school last Friday. I was not thrilled. The sad part is the weather was good proobably one day out the entire week so I couldn’t send them outside.
I was at work in the day, so my husband dealt with it. i came home and the kids were in differnet rooms. I just started laughing. He followed all over the bedroom and bathroom talking, as if he needed adult interaction.

LOL @ Jennifer and Lashonda. Great images from both of you. My daughter is usually with her dad for spring break, so this has been a most unusual week for me. I am tired as all get out. Last night she was all like “we can go see Hannah Montana” tomorrow. I told her she better phone a friend because I was done. I’m dropping her off at the theater at 2.

Diva D…sounds like the girl wore you out…hehe. So why didn’t she spend Spring Break with her this year…I think I know but I just need to confirm.
Hey Yas- The Ex and I are switching roles, and he is about to become the full-time parent, and I’ll be the holidays- spring break- summer parent. That means that I got her for spring break this year. I didn’t realize how hard it was to keep a kid busy all week during vacation time because she’s usually not with me. LOL. I will definitely be prepared from here on out. Whew!

Hey Diva D…I thought that was the case…and I’m happy that the ex will have her doing the high school years because you deserve a break.

I telework so I was home with not only my 17 year old, but my 3 year old because he and I were sick. My 17 year old could have gotten out of dodge, but he chose to stay home and spend the time working out and keeping up with his physical therarpy appointments. He’s determined to play basketball next week. It was all good.
I love, love, love the beach. Grew up a mile away from it in New Jersey and now I’m land locked in Atlanta. That picture was like looking at heaven. You know which one I’m talking about it. I’m too old for all them folks.
Rhonda…being a Jersey I would have said the shore. But people always look at me weird when I say the shore. I had to stop saying it. I was at wildwood a week each summer and Asbury Park often.
Lashonda,
You know I know it’s the shore, but you sure right, most people don’t so I end up repeating myself. I’ve gotten used to the word beach. Imiss the shore!
Lashonda/Rhonda…lol…in the North it’s the shore; down South it’s the beach.

Spring Break for me is a lot different. My younger two go to a charter school year round. So they’ve been off for three, yes count them THREE weeks! So it’s been three weeks of of Wii, running back and forth to the library, which new movies are out or coming out, Chuck E Cheese, the park and out front with neighboring kids. Thanks to Djuanna (WAVING), ya’ll know I upgraded my camera. So we’ve taken so many more photos. I’ve posted a few on my blog at Myspace. They have vetoed a lot of them from seeing the light of day. After debating for the last three weeks, we became pet owners with his and hers FISH!
My oldest, who is eighteen and driving me completely bonkers only had a week, but thanks to his suspension, he added an additional three days to that. In that time frame we went back and forth with prom colors, prom dates and different vehicles and the reason he should be able to drive instead of being chauffeured around.
My birthday was on April 1st and my kids took me to brunch at my favorite pizzeria. I was flattered! HOWEVER, Monday can’t get here fast enough for me!
Don’t tell anyone else, but I sometimes miss working!!!

@Nardsbaby- dang girl! You make my spring break seem like a snoozefest. LOL. Glad you enjoyed your camera. I took pics of Ty earlier this week. I missed the Easter dress thing because she spent the night with my mom so that they could go to church together. By the time I got to the house, she was in jeans and t-shirt. Sigh.
