I love the list. I used to love to ply I Spy..Until my counsin fell off of a stool trying to show us what he was talking about and we all got in trouble for being in the kitchen…red rover was a favorite as well. I am a Jersey girl but I loved my summers in SouthCarolina.

Freeze tag is much better than regular tag. Better yet is animal freeze tag where you have to pretend to be an animal if you get got. My ds liked dodge ball. I thought it was a torture device designed to let the teachers get me without looking like they were after me.

I loved jumping rope, but I never could get coordinated enough for double dutch. Duck, Duck, Goose was a big one, and my favorite was foursquare. I never liked the swings much, I have a messed up middle ear, and to this day, get motion sick at the drop of a hat. Great TT

Freeze tag was much more fun than regula tag. I enjoyed all those playground fun things to do also. We also played touch football, jacks, and running bases.

I love watching double dutch jumproping, but me and my uncoordinated self just couldn’t get the hang of it.

Wonderful, wonderful list! I had so much fun with most of those games growing up. I remember when Red Rover wasn’t allowed anymore because too many kids were getting hurt!

The children I teach still love Hop Scotch, Duck, Duck, Goose, Tag, and Kickball & Basketball, in addition to football and soccer— and of course, just plain old running around. We often catch them playing “dog” and “Cat” LOL!
