I’m new to the Thursday Thirteen meme.  Since I have a Web site about books, particularly African American Lit, I thought I would try and create memes that focus on books.  Since today is the last day of the Between the Sheets monthly showcase, I am spotlighting 13 books from that theme.  Here’s my list:

THIRTEEN BOOKS FROM THE EROTIC GENRE THAT I READ AND RECOMMEND

  1. Addicted by Zane
  2. Threesome by Brenda Thomas
  3. Knockin’ Boots by Tracy Price-Thompson
  4. One Ain’t Enough by Mo’ Flames
  5. Between the Sheets by Eric Jerome Dickey
  6. Sleeping With Strangers by Eric Jerome Dickey
  7. Waking with the Enemy by Eric Jerome Dickey
  8. Insatiable by Allison Hobbs
  9. Sexual Healing by Jill Nelson
  10. Slow Burn by Ebony Farashuu
  11. Sweetest Taboo by Risque
  12. One G-String Short of Crazy by Desiree Day
  13. Verbal Penetration by Punany Poets

  1. Welcome to the Thursday Thirteen! I haven’t read any of the books you listed. However, I was fortunate enough to meet Eric Jerome Dickey a few years ago. He came to my workplace to discuss/sign copies of his then new book “Genevieve”. Although I mainly read non-fiction, I do have plans to read the two Dickey books you listed.

  2. I have never read any of those books. I am glad you liked them.

Thank you for stopping by, and welcome to the TT family! :)

  3. Hello Malcom and thanks for visiting my site! Dickey is an excellent writer…and he also tells good erotic tales. ;)

    Chelle–thanks for the welcome.

  4. # 9 makes me hum Marvin Gaye’s song. Verbal Penetration sounds intriguing.

  5. I read one and one is on my TBR pile from the list.

On my TBR is Slow Burn by Ebony Farashuu. I will get to it in September.

One Ain’t Enough by Mo Flames I read and loved it. I wrote a review for it that can be found on amazon.

I may just try my hand a the meme. Let me think of something good.

  6. Colleen–it’s about as racy as a Marvin Gaye song also. ;)

Jennifer–go for it…the sky is the limit…mine is pretty simple (and because I was tying in to a theme) not very creative…although after checking out some other memes I see how I could have taken this in a different direction. I already have an idea for next week…hehe. xoxo

  7. I know next to nothing about erotica. It’s not a genre I read very often. So I don’t recognize any of the authors or titles you’ve recommended.

  9. Hey Sarah, I understand. I’m not a big erotic reader either so I was happy that I could think of 13 books!

Journeywoman–#12, if you also enjoy humor, you’ll really enjoy this one.

  10. I’ve come up with thirteen books of my erotic tales that I’ve read. Granted I had to throw in a few from years ago, but it’s all good. And I had to put in a few of my favorite non-AA authors. But it was all good none-the-less.

  11. This is the coolest site I’ve seen in a long, long time! Good for you! I interviewed a bunch of women in this genre in the Open Grove – gosh, it sounded like being an African-American female author was quadruply hard. Good for you for making the effort to make it happen! I also love your name. I might steal it for a character – would you hate that?

Welcome to TTs! Very well done – and keep up the good work – this is such an under served population. I’ll let my friends know you’re here.

  12. I’m not much into reading erotica, but I do envy an author who can pull it off with a touch of class. One such author I have encountered is J Emberglass. Welcome to T13!

  13. Nice site and good books, though I will probably not read them – just some – maybe. Welcome to Thursday Thirteen. I hope you enjoy getting to know us all!

  16. veeeerrrrrrry interesting list!!! happy TT! please visit my site, as if you comment back to me on here, i’ll never see it lol

  17. I have read some of the books on your list and they are really good reads. I would have to add G-spot by Noire and Sexcapades by HoneyB

  18. Hey Ms. Mary I read G-Spot (and I can still see that dog scene…yuck…just crazy)…haven’t read any of Mary’s since her first book.

  19. Welcome to TT! Great list of books here – I will have to check them out!

  20. I read three of those. I don’t normally seek out erotica; I like it to have a good storyline.

  21. Hey Dera…as I’ve said in the past I will read anything as long as it has a good storyline. So, I’m trying to move beyond being a literary snob and more open-minded and accepting of reading books that I wouldn’t normally read…and of course…sharing those titles with others when they’re good…real good. Of course, some folks will never read o/side of their genre so this list is probably more beneficial for those who really like erotic but might not have heard of some of the authors listed.
