Feel ya, Uranie!! All I am saying is that we live in a wordl where people want fame and fortune but not the headaches that come with it. I still say that if he was a female--There would be no coming back!

Well said. I made the statement that if every celebrity, male or female, felt a need to go on tv and hold a press conference after the world felt a need to dig into their personal affairs there would be nothing left on TV.

Shon, I understand your point of view believe me. The thing I was trying to point out is the double standard in society when it comes public opinions. If Tiger was a woman the world would demand even more.

As for the celebrity status of it all. Celebrities pay a heck of a lot of money and invest a lot of time in getting their image out there and making sure that image finds its audience. They reap a heck of a lot of benefits from it especially financial. So I don't feel sorry for a lot of them when that image proves to be in direct contradition to how they are selling themselves. We live in a celebrity obsessed society. And a lot of folk would give an arm and a leg for fame. I think too many don't understand that fame costs.

And any intelligent adult should know that a celebrity isn't a "god" and to express that to their children, I think a lot of that gets lost in translation especially when you are up against slick multimillion dollar campagins.

With it all comes some sort of responsibilty from the celebrity who seeks to gain the publics favor as well as dollars. If you don't want your business out in the open then make sure that you are making sure that it doesn't get that way.

You can't want to be in the public for the good things and not expect the media to trail you when things go wrong.

Well, I think I am a someone somewhere, and I would give the woman a second chance. Why? Because I don't really care about what she does. I care about the ATHLETE. I'm wouldn't be upholding her to some standards that don't exist in the real world, just like I'm not holding Tiger up to any standards, except for being a kick-ass golfer. I understand, because of the celebrity and all, of why Tiger felt the need to do a conference, as contrite and well-planned as it was, but I was pissed he had to do so. It ain't NONE of our business what he does in his real life. And people keep throwing up the celebrity thing. I read a quote the other day talking about celebrities spend all their lives trying to be well-known and then spend the rest of their lives trying to hide from it. Because Woods is a talented athlete, I'm supposed to care about his marriage and sex life? Am I supposed to go to my child, any child, and say, "I'm sorry I held Tiger up as a role model for you?" I probably should kick my own behind with the latter, that any person would hold someone up -- that they didn't know and whom didn't know them from Adam - as the role model for their child.

Sorry for rambling, but this is a touchy, irritating thing for me. Haven't watched or read much about this case or most cases dealing with celebrities because I abhor how much we make them a part of our lives and daily talk.
