Which book did you find the hardest to birth?
The Legacies was probably the hardest to birth because I knew I was dealing with controversial subjects matters. The story was put in my heart and I persevered.
Which book is your current favorite?
Currently, Keeping Misery Company is my favorite book since it made me a best-selling author.
How would you describe your writing style?
I describe my writing style as emotional. I think I am able to bring out my characters actions successfully from an emotional standpoint.
Do you listen to music while you write? If so, what kind?
I don’t generally listen to music while I’m writing, if I do the genre would be Gospel or jazz.
Tell us anything about you as a writer that you think might be interesting or unusual.
I may have the television turned on low for backout noise while I write and that’s it.
What advice do you have for aspiring writers?
I’d advise authors to hold on to their dreams, and pursue them. You don’t know where they might lead you. I’d also encourage the importance of networking.
Writers are often encouraged to write what they know. Have you found that to be the case with your writing?
I believe one should write about what they know, although in my case I haven’t always. I do find it easier to write about what I know.
ABOUT THE BOOK
Life was easy for Nichole Singleton, with a voice like an angel, a job she adores, and a church she has called home since her teens. While Jeffrey, Nichole’s loving husband, has control over the life they are living, Nichole still feels blessed . . . until her gambling “hobby” turns into a personal cross to bear that threatens to destroy her marriage.
Through her trials and tribulations, will Nichole remember to put her trust in God and reaffirm her faith in the Lord, or will she see her marriage and gambling habit as bigger than even the God she serves?
