My Totally Selfish Christmas List by Rambling Raven
It is that time of the year where people are putting together their Christmas lists and checking them twice. It is always great to think of others, especially during this time of the year. However, I have been thinking of one special person this year in particular, me. Yep, I have a total selfish side and she has been rearing her ugly little head lately. I have a Christmas list just like everyone else and I will give generously and graciously. The funny thing is that for every gift I am contemplating getting others, I am also thinking of some great gifts for myself.
To be totally honest; I never get exactly what I want for Christmas from others. And although I know that it is the thought that counts and most of the time I am grateful to get anything at all. However, I so think that if you want something done right you have to do it yourself. I spend a lot of time, thought and money during the holiday season every year. I actually try to please those that I love. And I actually do want to give them what they want, so I do my very best with my Christmas list. Yet I have gone through many a Christmases with a great big smile on my face pretending to love everything that is given to me. This year I want to fulfill my inner child’s Christmas dreams. So here is my shameless Christmas list, just for me:
A 500 page leather-bound personal journal, with my initials in gold across the front.
The new Max Herre cd imported from Germany.
10 new books downloaded on my Kindle.
A new iPod fully loaded.
A fridge fully loaded from top to bottom with goodies from Whole Foods.
The DVD box set of the X-Files and Star Trek the Next Generation series.
A new bedroom set complete with new sheets and comforter.
A new winter wardrobe with new boots.
Season pass to the Chicago Theater.
Huge gift card to Borders.
I know that a lot on my list is wishful thinking. I know that I will not have the money to get several things on my list right away, like that bedroom set but it is nice to wish. I don’t think that my list is too outrageous just may take a little more money than I have to spend on myself this holiday season. Anyhoot, I would love to read some totally selfish Christmas lists from you out there, even if it may all be only wishful thinking.
