Trife Life 2 Lavish by Deja King brings you the life of Nichelle Martin. After enduring a traumatic experience as a child, Nichelle and her mother create a new life complete with new identities. Nichelle finds love in Carmello who treats her like a queen. But all that glitters is not gold, right? After his tragic death, Nichelle finds out the man she loved is not who she thought he was.
Tierra Thompson is Nichelle’s best friend and watches out for her by any means necessary. However, the high life never came easy for Tierra. She spends her time searching for her next sponsor and literally doing anything she needs to do to escape the hood. But will this paper chase land Tierra in a position that may compromise her friendship with Nichelle? Does this even matter to Tierra?
King usually captivates me with her storylines and hot characters. This latest release did not take me there. I was very disconnected from the characters. I felt the story was choppy and in some areas unrealistic. Overall, Trife Life 2 Lavish is a decent read if you are not looking for anything shocking or deep.

I have not read Trife Life 2 Lavish yet, but I’m sure there’s a reason why you feel it’s not shocking or deep. My guess is that this book is tied into the stackin’ paper book, you also have to read Stackin’ Paper 2, Genesis Payback to get a full understanding of how this book, Trife Life 2 Lavish, Stackin’ Papers 1&2, and the whole Bitch series tie in together.
She couldn’t give you too much in Trife Life 2 Lavish, she had to give you just enough to build up the anticipation. I Just got Stackin’ Paper 2 on 7/25/2009, (I’ve been waiting on this since last year) and it was so good that I finished it the same night. I also read the preview of Trife Life 2 Lavish 2 and that’s when I realized that all of these books tie into one another. So this weekend, I am going to go purchase Trife Life 2 Lavish, and wait on part 2 to come out, and also wait on the Bitch 5: Last Bitch Standing.
