In 140 words or less, describe what Christmas decoration you would be and why?
I would be a blue Christmas bulb. Why? Because then I could be placed on the tree which is usually strategically located so that I could see everyone who came and went on Christmas day. All the family and friends, gifts and smiles, would be right in front of me. LOL, cute and yea for the blue Christmas bulb.
In 140 words or less, describe why your latest release would make a wonderful Christmas present.
Second Chance, Baby would make a great Christmas gift because it’s a story that embodies one of the key elements of the holiday season: love. Ty and Felicia are given a second chance at making their marriage work, at building and maintaining their family. What a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday!
If you were one of the 12 days of Christmas items, what would you be and why.
Seven swans a swimming. Swans have a really regal and sedated look about them; I’d love to swim along all day with that type of serenity. Let’s hear it for the swans!
Share your most memorable childhood Christmas experience.
A few days before Christmas there was this big box in front of our tree. It was wrapped in shiny purple paper and didn’t have a name tag on it. So, naturally, I was curious. I picked up the box and shook it and shook it. It wasn’t heavy but nothing inside rattled either. I noticed on the bottom of the box there was a gap in the wrapping paper and in that gap was a slit in the box. I left it alone because I didn’t want it to look like I’d been bothering it. Then, curious and more curious, I asked my father who the box was for. He said it was for my mother. Of course, I couldn’t hold that in for more than two minutes because I raced upstairs to tell my mother that my father had bought her something really big. She just smiled and asked if I knew what it was. I said no but that I could find out for her…if she wanted me to. She said yes. So I went back to the tree and started investigating that big purple box again. I kept looking through that opening trying to see what it was and I thought I saw something staring back at me. I dropped that box so fast that whatever was in it surely should have broken. I didn’t touch it again until Christmas morning when I was busily tearing into other gifts. Since the big purple box wasn’t mine I paid it no attention, plus I still thought something inside of it had stared back at me. Finally, my father pushed the box in front of me and told me to open it. I was afraid but I’m the oldest, with two younger brothers, clearly I couldn’t let them see that I was afraid to open this box. So I slowly tore away the paper and opened the box and yelled so loud I’m sure people ten blocks away heard me. As a child I was fascinated with unicorns, I had stickers and posters and bedspreads, if they put a unicorn on it I had to have it. Well, my father had bought me a life-sized (I was ten so it seemed life-sized at the time) white unicorn with a soft purple mane and big pretty dark purple eyes—the ones that had stared back at me when I peeked into the box.–What a great story…thanks for sharing!
What was the best present you received as a child?
Besides the unicorn, my very first Cabbage Patch Kid. Her name was Shawna. I remember buying a Cabbage Patch Doll for my niece when they first came out…hmmm I’m dating myself but these dolls weren’t available when I was a kid…lol.
What has been the best present you’ve received as an adult?
As an adult I don’t receive a lot of presents because we tend to put the children first at Christmas time. Of course, my parents still get me things that they think I need, hats, scarves, undergarments, parent-type stuff. LOL But one year my husband bought me the complete I Love Lucy DVD set and inside the box that the DVDs came in was a black pouch and in that pouch was a ring, with four pink stones. My youngest daughter told me that she’d seen the ring on television and told him to buy it for me because each of the stones could represent my three children and my husband. I thought that was the sweetest present and now every time I wear that ring my daughter tells me how she picked it out especially for me. ooo, aaa…how cute!
What’s your favorite Christmas dish?
Sweet potato pie–That’s my favorite dessert and I prefer sweet potatoes…not yams.
What’s your favorite Christmas song?
O Holy Night
What’s your favorite Christmas movie?
White Christmas
What’s your favorite Christmas book?
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
What’s your favorite Christmas drink?
I like white wine. There are always all these other concoctions roaming around but I’m not bold enough to sample them. LOL Hmmm…I’ll have to invite you over to try some of mixed concoctions…hehe.
It’s Christmas Eve and we saw you kissing Santa Claus…describe what your ‘Santa Baby’ looks like.
Tall, slim, root beer complexion, smiles all the time.
Think about the five most important people in your life. Assuming you can only give intangible gifts, what would you give each of them and why?
I would give my husband patience because Lord knows he needs it!
My son, I would give strength, because he’s becoming a man.
My oldest daughter I would give patience and understanding…she’s like her daddy!
My youngest daughter I would give compassion to go with her big heart and quick smile.
My mother I would give her peace, because she worries about any and every body in the family when she just needs to focus on herself for a change.
What’s the best thing about Christmas?
Family.
Complete the phrases…
It doesn’t feel like Christmas unless it’s cold outside, dark by 5pm, and Nat King Cole’s Christmas Song is played on the radio at least once a day. I know that’s right!
Books are always on my Christmas list.
My Christmas traditions include baking cookies with my kids on Christmas Eve and decorating the Christmas tree with the family.
Toys For Tots is one charity that I recommend others donate to during the holidays (and all year-round).
Koinonia Baptist Church has the best Christmas services (and New Year’s ain’t bad either.)

I love sweet potato pie as do two out of my three kids, but I don’t know how too make it. Like Beverly, I wish someone would give me a years worth of yoga classes. I am so missing yoga. No lessons close to my house, I’ll take a private instructor.
Can I also ask for anything Betty Boop. I love that big headed sexy lady.
