After reading Dwan’s feature, don’t forget to answer today’s DISCUSSION QUESTION which can be found at the end of Dwan’s interview.
In 140 words or less, describe what Christmas decoration you would be and why? I would be the angel on top of the tree, because I try to be an angel in the lives of other people.
In 140 words or less, describe why your latest release would make a wonderful Christmas present. Married Strangers would make a wonderful Christmas present because it is set during the Christmas holiday. Besides being entertaining, Married Strangers takes the question of “why did I get married?” to a whole other level.
If you were one of the 12 days of Christmas items, what would you be and why. I would have to say that I would be three French hens, because it refers to faith, hope and charity, the theological virtues.
Share your most memorable childhood Christmas experience. I remember when we lived in Germany and some of the kids used to talk about turning their maids’ quarters into their play houses. I remember asking my mom to do the same for me. She eventually did, and I was very happy. What a lovely idea.
What was the best present you received as a child? An Easy Bake Oven. That was a very popular gift…hmmm but my cakes were always jacked…lol.
What has been the best present you’ve received as an adult? Diamonds! Of course.
What’s your favorite Christmas dish? Everything. LOL, I understand.
What’s your favorite Christmas song? Silent Night. By the Temptations, of course, hehe.
What’s your favorite Christmas movie? A Diva’s Christmas Carol.
What’s your favorite Christmas drink? Egg Nog. With or without alcohol…lol.
It’s Christmas Eve and we saw you kissing Santa Claus…describe what your ‘Santa Baby’ looks like. Light-skinned, bald-head, goatee, six foot one, athletic build and sexy.
Think about the five most important people in your life. Assuming you can only give intangible gifts, what would you give each of them and why? I would give my daughter my undivided attention because that’s what she deserves. I would give my mom my love because that’s what she gives me. My sister would receive my support and encouragement because that’s what she needs. If I could give my man an intangible gift, it would be a day of silence. That would be a real struggle for me, because I’m a talker. Giving him some silence would really mean a lot to him. As for my best friend, she would receive my understanding. No judgment or advice, simply understanding. Very thoughtful gifts!
What’s the best thing about Christmas? The food. Just kidding. Okay, not really. The food is great. However, I realize that Christmas is really a time to reflect on the sacrifices that Jesus made for us. Because of the ultimate gift, Jesus, that is truly the best thing about Christmas.
Complete the phrases…
It doesn’t feel like Christmas without people you love to share it with.
My immediate family is always on my Christmas list.
My Christmas traditions include baking cookies and setting them out, along with a glass of milk, for Santa. We also say a family prayer.
Hosea Williams Feed the Hungry is one charity that I recommend others donate to during the holidays (and all year-round).
Berean Christian Church has the best Christmas services (and New Year’s ain’t bad either.)
And because APOOO is a book club…and we need to talk about books before we leave…please answer the following questions:
Excluding books written by you, what five books are you recommending to others as Christmas gifts this year?
What was the last book you read that:
made you scream? Can’t think of any right now.
made you cry? Redemption by Jacquelin Thomas
made you laugh? My Soul Cries Out by Sherri Lewis
made you use all five senses? Some Things I Never Thought I’d Do by Pearl Cleage
was in a genre you don’t normally read? ‘Till Death Do Us Part (Baily Weggins Mysteries) by Kate White
used location as a character? Sleeping with Strangers by Eric Jerome Dickey
wish you had written? The Coldest Winter Every by Sister Souljah That was a good book…have you read or do you plan to read Sister Souljah’s latest book, Midnight?

Yasmin,
Atlanta is saturated with everything including personal chefs, so it’s pretty cheap, not much more than buying food. I was really surprised.
