Sharin Downs ‘aka’ Twist, is 24 years- old and trying like hell to figure out what her life’s passion is. She quit her high-profile job on Capitol Hill, packed all her belongings and moved to Atlanta, Georgia. The only person she knew was an old flame, named Alphonso. She tries to find a job, but unfortunately jobs are hard to come by, so she goes from one meaningless job to the next. When it comes to her love life, she is just as unlucky.
With the help of Dr. Gregory Bailey, she begins to divulge her innermost thoughts and secrets as she tries to untangle the mess she calls her life. Sharin shares her college experiences and the men she has been intimate with. Each man took something out of her. When she finally meets a man that wants to share more with her, than just her body, she rushes into a relationship just to be let down once again. Will Sharin finally find happiness and love?
Twist by Angie L. Jennings was a good read for the most part. The only two issues I had with this novel were : 1. that it went back and forth from the past to the present too much. It would not have been so bad if there was better distinction between the character’s past; maybe using italics or a different style. Then I think it would have been less confusing to readers. 2. The story lacked focus and seemed to be all over the place. Other than these two issues this book would have easily received 4 stars.
