Welcome to APOOO, Wanda B. Campbell!
In 140 words or less, tell us a little about yourself.
I am a wife, mother, grandmother, youth leader, public healthcare worker, an avid reader and a passionate writer. My purpose is to motivate and to encourage individuals to pursue their dreams and reach their fullest potential.
In 140 words or less, tell us why Unresolved Issues would make a great addition to our personal library.
Unresolved Issues is a realistic look at love and marriage and the hard work required to maintain the relationship. The story is entertaining, yet thought provoking. Readers will experience a powerful lesson in forgiveness and reconciliation.
How did you come up with the premise for Unresolved Issues?
From working in the ministry with married couples for ten years, I discovered the root of most of the marital problems was communication. Not the superficial rhetoric we’ve become accustomed to, but open and honest communication in which words aren’t simply exchanged, but hearts are revealed. I’m hoping readers will learn from Staci and Derrick’s mistakes and build healthier relationships.
Tell us about the main character(s) in Unresolved Issues.
Stacelyn thought her life was complete the day she married Dr. Derrick Garrison. The fairytale life she envisioned quickly vanishes, however, when Derrick’s late nights and unexplained absences cause her to question his motives for marrying her. As secrets from the past and emotional wounds are revealed, Stacelyn discovers the hard way that it takes more than love to build a marriage.
What are some of the main themes you portray in Unresolved Issues?
Some of the main themes covered in Unresolved Issues include: family dynamics, low self-worth, insecurity, and deceit.
What makes Unresolved Issues different from other books in the marketplace?
Unresolved Issues doesn’t stop with sensationalizing the issues. The story peels away the many layers of family dysfunction and guides the reader to healing.
What genre is Unresolved Issues and who is the target audience?
Unresolved Issues is a Christian Fiction novel. The target audience is single and married individuals, ages 21 and over.
What lessons have you learned about the publishing industry?
The greatest lesson I have learned about the publishing industry is that knowledge is power. Don’t depend on others to tell you want to do. Take the initiative and educate yourself about the business. After all, it is your business.
What can readers expect from you in the future?
My next Christian Fiction novel, Doin’ Me is scheduled for May 2013. It’s a sequel to my novel, Silver Lining.
