What White Boyz Want is a compilation of romantic short stories written by several authors expressing love between African American women and white men.

The first story in this collection starts with “Bitter Ball,” where not only did Danika and G.T. differ in race, but in personality and style as well. Each year they would attend the ball with plans to find each other the perfect mate according to what they each believed that person to be. However, the ball this year will change their lives forever.

Of the five stories in the book, I really enjoyed Cowboy Cool, written by Simone Harlow. Marvin Kennedy, CEO of Harvest Moon Records, sent his beautiful daughter, Veronica, to woo country singer J.B. Devlin to their record label. Marvin was counting on Veronica to use her beauty to persuade J.B., but it was not as easy as he anticipated. Something else happened altogether different… love.

Each story was very well written, and the authors were able to write their characters as human beings first, while not making the color of their skin an issue. I would recommend this collection of books to anyone who loves to read about interracial love and romance.
