Harajuku: Japanese Futuristic Church

This futuristic protestant church  is located in Tokyo and it was first unveiled by the design firm of Ciel Rouge Creation in 2005. The ceiling is specially made to reverberate natural sound for 2 seconds to provide a unique listening experience for worshipers and tourists.

  2. Very interesting design.
Would love to visit it but do not think this would be a church I would like to worship in – does not inspire peace or grace to me.

  3. A tad, actually, a lot too modern for me…

    Blessings!

  4. I agree with Jennifer this would be a little too claustrophobic for me…I need windows. ;)

  5. Interesting. It does not look like a place of worship at all. I was looking at the colorful chairs dotted through out and it just threw me off. Who gets to sit there? Do they eject? Is your experience better in those seats? Too much going on for me. I do like the idea of the sound the ceiling produces.

  8. WOW! Beautiful desgin, Although, I don’t think I would be able to sit through a service there, I would be too focused on the building. It looks almost like an optical illusion.
