  9. Listen to John McCain he don’t mean a nothing that is coming out of his mouth. I just wished Barack’s grandmother would have lived another day to see her grandson make History. Obama 08.

  10. Feel you Ms. Jnkns…but I said last week when one life ends…a new one begins…and his grandmother knew she could leave..she had voted…she was at peace and knew in her heart that he was going to win…she ready to transition because she knew that it was in God’s hand now…

  11. Good peoples…this came about because of a higher being…a friend of mind said he didn’t believe a black man could raise this much money to become President…he just couldn’t beleive that ordinary folks were raising this much money for Obama…guess what yes we did…but guess again…black votes only represent 13% of the population…there were a lot of white folks who crossed that line to make this happen…that ain’t nothing but God!

  12. I’m still in awe! So restless and can’t sleep. Just so excited that I witnessed history in the making. As said before…this is nothing but God!!!

  13. Like the saying says God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.

  14. I am so proud to be an American today… I have a red, white and blue balloon bouquet in front of my house and my mom asked me didn’t I want to wait until tomorrow to put it up, you know, when he wins, and I told her I’m putting it up tonight, because he’s going to win tonight! I will never forget this moment!

  20. I’m still too wired up to go to sleep but I need to go to bed because I have to get up in 5 hours. Yasmin, you’re right–this day was Obama’s destiny. His life’s work prepared him for this–with God all things are possible.

  21. I am so elated I dont even know what to do with myself. Family has gone to sleep after our LOUD celebration but I cant. I am so proud and thrilled and overjoyed with what took place tonight. It is just the most amazing experience that I had only hoped for my young daughters. But tonight was the night. May God continue to bless the Obama Family – his family in Heaven and our country that is in much need of prayer. Congratulations First Family!!!

  22. I would never believe I would see this in my lifetime and certainly not in my 82 year-old mother’s time. I am beyond overjoyed.

  23. Good morning – When I went to the store to get the paper, it was a crowd (if I would have gotten to the store 15 minutes later, all the papers would have been gone). The conversations had in line just made me feel so good inside–you could feel the sense of pride everyone had.

  29. I feel WONDERFUL!!! THEY LOOK WONDERFUL!!!! I am so grateful that I am alive to witness this great moment in history, . To see Barack Hussein Obama (that’s right ya’ll Hussein) become the first African American president in the history of the USA. I cried last night like a baby!! I stomped and shouted for my grandparents who did not live to see this day. I made my sons who are 10 and 13 woke up from their sleep last night to see President Obama walk on the stage at Grant Park and give his speech. Sleepy and Whining I told them to look at the T.V. and tell me what they see. Still sleepy and whining my 10yr old said “Barack Obama”. I asked them “do you know what this means”?. My 13yr old look at me kinda strange and said “no”. I said this means that you have “NO EXCUSE” not to acheive greatness or any of the goals you set for yourselves in your lifetime, there will be no more “I can’t do it”. I told them that man on the T.V. proves what I have been saying to you two since you came on this earth “YOU CAN BE OR DO WHATEVER YOU WANT TO even when some(or in some cases), most people says you can’t. And when they tell you that you can’t do it tell them Barack said “YES WE CAN”!!

  30. Yasmin, thanks for opening up your online home to us last night. I was happy to share this time in history with you all.
