MEET STACY HAWKINS ADAMS (Part 2)

Would you say you are an extrovert or introvert?

Can I say both? LOL  I’ve always been somewhat shy, but when I’m with friends or when I’m doing a presentation for something I’m passionate about (like writing or pursuing your dreams) I don’t come across that way. I’m a people person, but I also value having my quiet time.
Do you like to cook? If so, what are your favorite dishes to cook?

Cooking is not one of my favorite things to do, but of course I do it because I have a family. One of the dishes I receive kudos for is my chicken tetrazini. I happen to enjoy baking somewhat more, and both my chocolate cake and carrot cake are big hits.

What movie(s) have you watched recently that you would recommend?

Because I have an 11- and 8-year old, I watch a lot of kiddie movies! LOL  We recently saw “Up” and enjoyed it.

As far as adult movies, I enjoyed “Seven Pounds” and ‘Fireproof.”

Do you like books being turned into a movie? If so, what is your favorite book-to-movie?

Yes. My favorite at this point is Secret Life of Bees. Certain parts make me cry every time I watch it.

If Worth a Thousand Words was turned into a movie who would you cast to play your characters?

Kerry Washington would play Indigo Burns.

Taye Diggs would play Brian Harper.

Vanessa Williams or Lela Rochon would play Rachelle

I’m not sure yet who would play Aunt Melba, but it would have to be a strong and sassy, yet beautiful woman in her 60s

Which social networks do you enjoy the most?

I’m addicted to Facebook, like everyone else, it seems. ;) I’m also on Twitter and GoodReads

What’s next for you?

Worth A Thousand Words is the second book in the Jubilant Soul series. The third and final book in the series, Dreams That Won’t Let Go, will be released in January 2010. I also am working on my first nonfiction inspirational book for women.
ABOUT THE BOOK

Worth a Thousand Words
Jubilant Soul Series Book Two
by Stacy Hawkins Adams

Life has always gone Indigo Burns’s way. She’s smart, pretty, and talented, and she knows exactly what she wants. A photography internship at her hometown’s local newspaper is the next step in her well-laid plans for her future. But her long-term goals are put to the test when her boyfriend Brian proposes–two years before he’s supposed to and in front of all the guests at her college graduation party.

Too concerned about his feelings to say no, she heartily agrees, but inside she’s cringing. Indigo knows in her heart that she’s not prepared to sacrifice her dreams to become Brian’s wife–not before she has achieved any of them. Will she find the answers among family and friends in Jubilant, Texas? Or will the picture-perfect life she dreams of be left behind?

  1. Thanks for participating in the Worth a Thousand Words Blog Tour. I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts on Stacy’s second book in the Jubilant Soul series. The Someday List was so well-received.

    Have a Blessed Weekend!

  2. I’m trying to think of who would make a good Aunt Melba. LOL Both books would make excellent movies. Maybe Tyler Perry or T. D. Jakes will see this post, read the book(s), and take action! Can’t wait until January for the final installment in this series.

  4. Thanks for featuring my new release, “Worth a Thousand Words,” and an interview with me on your site.
I hope you’ll enjoy the novel when you read it! In answer to Renee’s musings, Kerry Washington would make a great Indigo, Jordan Sparks could play her younger sister, and as for Aunt Melba, I’m not quite sure who’d fit this role, but someone like Ruby Dee or Diahann Carroll would be great. :)
I appreciate the support from all of you!
    All the Best,
    Stacy
